A changed attitude toward the Jewish Agency for Palestine is reported here to have developed among some of the leaders of British Jewry.
Ab. Goldberg of the American Zionist Administration has held conferences with Sir Robert Waley Cohen, D’ Avigdor Goldsmith. Nathan Laski, and others. Some of these notables are said to have modified their position to the Agency, favoring a weakening of the body and proposing that it become after a fashion a clearing house for all bodies working in the economic sphere for the upbuilding of Palestine.
According to reports, the change in the attitude of these notables is due to representations of Judge Julian Mack of New York, president of the Palestine Development Council, who has been in London recently.
James deRothschild, whom Mr. Goldberg also conferred with, is said to be sympathetic to the original Agency idea. He would join, if his father, Baron Edmond deRothschild consents, in the opinion of Goldberg, who is proceeding to Paris to confer with the Baron.
