Being a Jew is either a misfortune or a privilege and there is no use in the Jew trying to disguise his racial origin, Sir Alfred Mond declared at a joint meeting of the Hadassah and Zionist organizations here. “Once a Jew, always a Jew”, Sir Alfred reiterated.
In Palestine, he continued, he had found “a new generation of Jews growing up strong, clear Byed and virile, having in one generation resumed the manhood that had been crushed out by centuries of oppression in the ghettoes of darkest Europe.”
This development, he says, made him feel more strongly than ever pride in being a Jew.
Palestine, he added concluding his address, has become an excellent business proposition under the present British protection.
