A resolution recommending that $5,000,000 be raised through a loan for the rebuilding of Palestine was adopted at the conference of the Jewish National Fund on the occasion of the celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of its establishment. Judge Bernard A. Rosenblatt presided at the conference, which was held at the Pennsylvania Hotel. Louis Lipsky, Mr. Remez and Mr. Abraham Hartzfeld of the Palestine Jewish Labor Federation, Rabbi H. Masliansky, Dr. S. Bernstein and Dr. A. E. Abramowitz were among the speakers.
The convention also favored the proposal to inscribe in the Golden Book of the Fund the names of the six presidents of the United States who endorsed the Jewish Homeland movement. They are John Adams, Benjamin Harrison, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge.
Although the Jewish National Fund is twenty-five years old, the convention was the first held in America. More than 150 delegates were present.
