A banquet opening the United Palestine Appeal here was held Tuesday night at which Sir Wyndham Deedes and Mrs. Archibald Silverman were the principal speakers.

Seventeen hundred dollars toward Pensacola’s quota of $2,500 were raised at the banquet. The campaign will last three days. Rabbi Beryl D. Cohen is chairman of the campaign.

Leaving $30,000 in specific bequests to New York charities, the will of Aaron Bachrach of New York, who died Jan. 29, gives the residuary estate to the United Hebrew Charities to found the Aaron Bachrach Fund. The will filed for probate, leaves $5,000 legacies to the Hebrew Orphan Asylum, Mount Sinai Hospital. Home for Aged and Infirm Hebrews, Montefiore Hospital for Chronic Diseases, St. Luke’s Hospital and the Lenox Hill Hospital.
