The Government intends to fix its annual financial contribution to the Jewish schools in proportion to the Jewish population in the country, it is stated here. This will mean that practically 18 per cent of the Government education budget will henceforth be given to Jewish schools.
A commission has been appointed by the Zionist Education Council to prepare a draft budget of the Hebrew Schools in Palestine for the year 1927-1928. Representatives of the Government and the Zionist Executive will participate in the work of the Commission.

Funeral services for Morris S. Marks, former Executive Secretary and founder of the Grand Street Boys’ Association, whose body was found Thursday in a gas-filled room in Brooklyn, were held Friday at the Riverside Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn.
Officers of the Grand Street Boys’ Association and immediate relatives attended the funeral. Judge Max S. Levine, President of the association, and Judge Otto A. Rosalsky of the board of directors, headed the delegation at the chapel.
The Trustees of Temple Feni-El, New York City, of which Dr. Henry A. Schorr is Rabbi, has purchased property at 130-136 West 79th Street for the erection of a new Temple Building. Its completion is expected within six months.
The new Temple will have a seating capacity of about 1,200. A large social hall with complete stage and screen equipment, will accommodate an additional 750 people, and classrooms will take care of 400 children in the Religious School.
