An official statement warning the population against panic, was issued by the Palestine Government following the slight shock of Sunday.

The statement assured the population that according to seismological advice, no new shock is to be anticipated, as only a minor tremor is possible.

An appeal to Moslems throughout the world to create a Palestine relief fund was issued by the Grand Mufti, the ecelesiastical head of the Palestine Moslems.

The Grand Mufti’s appeal fixes the amount of damage caused by the earthquake at £4,000,000. The damage in Nablus alone amounts of £1,000,000, the appeal states.

The Palestine Government, it was learned today, has informed the municipality of Tel-Aviv that it does not find it necessary to accept the offer of Tel-Aviv Jewish volunteers to clear the debris. The Government workers will be in a position to handle the situation, the Government stated.
