Construction activities undertaken to restore the houses in the Old City, destroyed by the earthquake, were stopped today on an order issued by the Palestine government.
The “Davar,” Hebrew labor daily, learns from reliable sources that the intention underlying this ordinance of the Palestine government is to prevent the building of new houses in the Old City which is overcrowded and instead to grant to the owners whose property was destroyed land outside the city wall for the construction of new houses.
