Two thousand Chicago Jews gathered in Orchestra Hall to voice their protest against restriction of immigration to Palestine by the British and adopted resolutions condemning this action and asking that it be rescinded.
The principle addresses were delivered by Rabbi Solomon Goldman of Temple Anshe Emes, and Judge Harry M. Fisher.
Max Shulman, president of the Chicago Zionist organization, presided. Other speakers were Rabbi E. Epstein, Rabbi S. Felix Mendelsohn, Miss Pearl Franklin, president of the Chicago Hadassah, and M. Bagadanske, representing the Zionist Labor groups.
