In acknowledging the receipt of a memorandum from the Jewish National Council which contained sharp criticism of the report of the Palestine Inquiry Commission, Sir Steuart Spencer Davis, treasurer of the Palestine government, wrote to the Council that the secretary of state for Palestinian affairs had directed him to say that Palestinian affairs were receiving the close attention of the government.
The reply invited the attention of the Jewish National Council to the statement of Premier MacDonald in the House of Commons April 3 and to the statements of the British representatives before the recent Palestine session of the Mandates Commission at Geneva. The Council’s memorandum had been submitted to the Mandates Commission through the High Commissioner for Palestine.
