A total of 15,225 Jews were admitted to the United States during the fiscal year ending June, 1930, according to figures made public today by Harry E. Hull, commissioner general of immigration. Of this number 11,526 were immigrants and the others were non-immigrant aliens. In the fiscal year ending June 1929, 12,479 Jews were admitted.
During the fiscal year ending June 1930 a total of 2,210 Jewish aliens left this country, 299 being emigrants. This made an increase in the Jewish alien population of the United States of 13,015. The Jews admitted for the fiscal year closing June 1930 were four and a half percent of the total number of 241,700 admitted. In June 1930 726 Jews were admitted.
The figures of the bureau of immigration for the fiscal year ending June 1930 show a sharp drop in the number of Jews debarred from entering the country and a slight increase in the number of Jews deported. The number of Jews debarred for the year ending June 1903 was 275 as compared with 610 in the previous year. A total of 164 Jews were deported for the year ending June 1930 as compared with 153 in the year before.
