Former Senator George Wharton Pepper of Pennsylvania and a group of outstanding legal authorities in this country have addressed communications to Governor Joseph B. Ely commending the appointment of Professor Felix Frankfurter of Harvard Law School to the Massachusetts Supreme Court Bench.
The Governor’s Council will meet next Wednesday to act on the appointment. The opposition to the confirmation, led by former Governor Alvin T. Fuller, seems to be disappearing, and the confirmation of Professor Frankfurter is a virtual certainty, it is stated.
