The resignation of Sir Herbert Samuel from his post of Home Secretary in the national cabinet, is now believed to be a virtual certainty.

Lord Snowden, Chancellor of the Exchequer, will resign his portfolio at the cabinet meeting next Wednesday in protest against the Ottawa trade agreements, and Lord Snowden’s resignation portends the failure to reach any agreement at the cabinet meeting.
