The new Belgium Parliament has a single Jewish representative, Mark Sommerhausen.

M. Sommerhausen was elected on the Socialist ticket. He is a member of a Jewish family formerly of Riga and is sympathetic to the Zionist movement.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, M. Hymans, is of Jewish origin, but does not consider himself to be a Jew.
