Two local Jews have been honored with important appointments. Monte M. Lemann has been named to the National Citizens’ Committee for the Mobilization for Human Needs and Mayer Israel, Jr., department store head, has been chosen to direct the division on organization for the NRA campaign committee in New Orleans. Mr. Lemann was in the headlines last year in the candid opinion on prohibition which he rendered after the issuance of the official report of the Wickersham Commission, of which he was a member.
