A conference of Hebrew writers and journalists of Poland and the Baltic countries will be held in Warsaw some time during the winter, it was announced here.
The decision to call the conference was adopted at a meeting of Hebrew writers in Prague which was called at the suggestion of Judas Warshawiak, vice-president of the Association of Polish Hebrew Writers.
A colony for writers and artists will be founded here and will bear the name of the famous Yiddish poet, Moishe Leib Halpern, who died in New York a year ago.
The decision to found the colony was made by the Yiddish Writers’ Association of Warsaw, which has invited Yiddish writers of all the world to participate in the group’s first project, a volume to be called “Book of One Hundred Poets”, the proceeds of which will go for the colony.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
