The Nazi propagandists as sert that all important posts in the Civil sevice were in the hands of Jews.

Just the opposite is true-Among 1,000 high officials in the administration and the Judiciary there were twelve Jews, that is 1.2 per cent. In the Reich there were during thirteen years two Under Secretaries of State, in Prussia none. In Prussian One Prussia one provincial governor (Oberpraesident) was of Jewish descent, no sub-governor (Regierungspraesident) and one district governor (Landrat) among 400.

Among 21,700 teachers and other officials of the Education Department there were 290 Jews.

Nor did Jews predominate in municipal administration. In the large towns, only the mayors of Hamberg, Frankfurt and the dputy mayor of Dortmund were of Jewish or half Jewish orgin.
