New Jersey’s reception for Professor Albert Einstein will take the form of a huge concert in Convention Hall in Atlantic City on March 25, and the proceeds of the concert, estimated in advance as approximately $100,000, will be used to found an Einstein colony in Palestine, it was decided today at a luncheon of Jewish representatives from all parts of New Jersey.
The luncheon was given at the Jewish Community Center building in Jersey City. Governor A. Harry Moore, honorary chairman of the committee, took the initiative in issuing the call for the luncheon, which was attended by 600 Jewish representatives from 450 Jewish or ganizations in New Jersey. Although the Governor was prevented from attending the luncheon owing to a death in his immediate family, he was represented by Justice B. Perskie of Atlantic City.
The Einstein reception is to be non-sectarian. A number of distinguished Christian educators, professionals and clergymen will be asked by Governor Moore to serve on the reception committee.
