Opposition against the policies of Dr. Kurt Schmitt, Reich Minister of Economics, which has been brewing for the past few weeks was carried a step further today when Der Stuermer, the organ owned by Julius Streicher, Nuremberg Nazi leader vigorously atacked Jewish enterprises and, especially, firms which had been sold by Jews to Aryans and in which the former Jewish owners retained some interest, however small.

Alleging that the transfer of Jewish enterprises to Aryans was merely a series of sham transactions to enable the enterprises to appear as Aryan owned, Der Stuermer insists upon the ruthless ruination of such enterprises even at the cost of adding many thousands of persons to the number of the unemployed.

“We Nazis also demand sacrifices,” the paper says, “because we are building not for today, or even for tomorrow, but for the centuries to come.”

MOCKS JEWS’ HOPES

Citing the well known Fulda telephone and telegraph concern, valued at thirty million marks, as one of the firms which “fraudulently” transferred its shares to an Aryan friend, reserving the right to repurchase the shares within five years. Der Stuermer mocks the implied hope that the position of the Jews will have changed within that period.

Der Sturmer warns the German people to avoid the “new-baked” Aryan enterprises in question, charging that they are merely Aryan straw-men appointed to keep the enterprises from suffering as a resut of the anti-Jewish boycontt. The paper continues its campaign for the expulsion of Jewish employees, asserting that the Nueremberger Zeitung, having been repeatedly warned against Jewish contributors, admitted having dismissed all Jewish staff-members. Nevertheless, Der Stewspaper’s Stuttgart correspondent is a Jew.
