There were no funeral orations. The huge crowd of mourners silently followed the hearse for hours along the roads leading to the southern railway station where the body was placed on a train for Trieste. From Trieste, where a group of distinguished Palestinian Jewish leaders are awaiting the body, a Trieste-Lloyd ship, specially designated as a transport of honor, will carry the body to Palestine.
The delegations of foreign Jewish notables included the chief rabbis of Budapest and Fiume. Polish Jewish mourners included former Senator Ringel, Dr. Sohar of the Tarbuth group, and Noah Finkelstein, editor-in-chief of the Warsaw Jewish daily, Haint.
In the Viennese delegation were the president of the B’nai B’rith, the Austro-Jewish Union and all Jewish philanthropic and scientific institutions. All the Zionist groups marched together. Dr. Richard Beer-Hoffmann, noted writer, followed the cortege on foot.
