Following his resignation as director of Montreal’s Jewish educational institutions, Rabbi I. L. Zlotnick, scholar, poet and translator, was appointed the new spiritual leader of Vancouver’s only orthodox congregation, Shaarey Tzedeck Synagogue. Rabbi Zlotnick was executive director of the Canadian Zionist Organization for many years.
