“It is not enough to have had notable leaders in the past, but it is much more important that we have great leaders in the present and future, and that we follow them in order that our national dream may be realized,” declared Herman Quittman, vice-president of the Association of Hungarian Jews, at a social affair in honor of the twenty-fifth birthday of Dr. Bernard Marton, rabbi of Congregation Nachlas Cuieh, 289 Fourth street.
Dr. Marton, who arrived from Hungary last year, is president of the downtown branch of the Association. Speakers introduced by Toastmaster Dr. Felix Widder, director of the downtown group, included Rabbi Abraham J. Hoffman and Mrs. Mollie Brucker.
