A diamond and emerald pendant valued at $1,500 has been received by the Jewish National Fund from a woman whose name was withheld, it was announced Friday. The Bible records a custom of Jewish women parting with jewelry to further causes dear to them.

The J.N.F. women’s division appointed Mrs. Carl Sherman chairman of a special “Jewel Fund” drive for redemption of Palestine land. The pendant will be awarded by lot to one of the volunteers in this campaign.
