A military court today sentenced one Jew to life imprisonment and 42 others terms of 10 years each for possession of arms in violation of the emergency regulations.

The Jews, all members of the Histadruth, Palestine Jewish labor federation, were convicted after a trial lasting three days. They were arrested on Oct. 5 near Yavniel while conducting practice maneuvers. The life term was meted out to Abshalom Thau, an architect and formerly a sergeant of railway police.
