Contrary to their previous tactics, the Nassi authorities no longer attribute the spread of epidemic diseases to Jews, since the Jews in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have long been segregated from the rest of the population. The report admits that German soldiers and officers in the occupied Baltic lands have been affected by the epidemics. Other information reaching here from Berlin reveals that the Alexanderplatz prison in the German capital, where many Jews are being held, has also been infected, while no typhus cases have been registered in the Jewish section of the city despite the poor living conditions there.
