Jewish circles here are indignant over an anti-Semitic “lecture” delivered by Waclaw Sledzinski, a Polish journalist who claims that he left Poland recently, in which he alleged that 7,000 Jews are employed by the Gestapo.
The “lecturer” discussed the Jewish situation in Nazi-held Poland in a manner hostile to the Jews, citing “facts” which contradict well-verified reports issued here by the Polish Government-in-Exile.
Jewish leaders here today also complained that promotions of Jewish chaplains in the Polish Army are not keeping pace with those of the Catholic chaplains. There are now seven Jewish chaplains in the Polish armed forces. Two of them are in Britain and five are stationed in the Middle East.
