“We cannot believe that the liquidation of Europe’s Jews is so important – if it is really a question of practical measures and not propaganda,” the Helsinkii daily, Sanomat, comments editorially today, discussing Hitler’s recent address in which he reiterated his threat to exterminate the Jews.

“It is surprising,” Sanomat continues, “that the Germans still continue this program. We should think that Germany, in the midst of a raging war, would not have time to deal with such a second-rate question.” The paper adds that, after all, there are only about 20,000 Jews remaining in Berlin, and “these are mostly married to Germans.”
