A number of Jewish refugees were arrested in Rome last week when German police raided three papal seminaries, it is reported today in the Dagens Nyheter.

Seized together with the Jews were a number of high Italian officials and labor leaders. The Nazis, apparently with an eye to possible Vatican protests, announced that they were justified in raiding the seminaries since the institutions “did not enjoy extraterritoriality.”
