The attempt by anti-Semitic groups to block the purchase by the Australian Zionist organization of a building in the business section of this city has been condemned by several radio commentators. One broadcaster pointed out that the failure to stop the sale is an indication that the majority of Australians are true to the British tradition of tolerance and fair play.

The executive council of Australian Jewry today made public a statement sent to members of the government expressing its condolences on the death of Prime Minister John Curtin, and declaring that “Australian Jewry mourns the passing of a great Australian who gave magnificent service to the Commonwealth.”
