The final meeting of the Assembly of the League of nations today unanimously adopted a resolution expressing satisfaction with the handling of mandates by the League’s council assisted by the Permanent Mandate’s Commission, and noting the intention of the mandatory powers to continue administration of these territories until other arrangements are agreed to between the United Nations and the mandatories. The resolution was proposed by China and seconded by Britain.

The Egyptian delegate, while not opposing the resolution, abstained from voting because he said Egypt had certain reservations concerning the Palestine Mandate. The Chinese representative voiced the hope that ultimate arrangements for the mandated territories will apply the trusteeship principles decided upon by the United Nations.

Moshe Shertok, head of the political department of the Jewish Agency, has arrived here, and is staying at the same hotel as the British mission to the League. The purpose of his visit was not announced.
