Moshe Daian, an interpreter with the French Army, was yesterday sentenced to death in absentia by a Moroccan military court. Also condemned were two French officers, in absentia, and one Moreccan Arab who was standing trial.
Mr. Daian was charged with and convicted of “plotting against the internal security of Morocco” and supplying the French Army with information about the Moroccan Liberation Army. All the crimes were alleged to have occurred before Morocco gained its independence.
