Jewish Theological Seminary Ordains 14 Rabbis; 65 Students Graduate

The Jewish Theological Seminary of America held its 69th Commencement here yesterday at which 65 graduates received degrees of whom 14 were ordained as rabbis.

Two members of the Seminary faculty. Rabbi Raphael Posner and Rabbi Dov Zlotnick received the degree of doctor of Hebrew Literature at the exercises. The honorary degree of Doctor of Hebrew Letters was awarded in absentia to Israeli author. Chaim Hazaz of Jerusalem and Judah A. Joffe of New York, a linguist and lexicographer, received a Doctor of Letters degree.

Honorary Doctorates of Divinity were awarded to Rabbi Abraham Burstein, secretary of the Jewish Academy of Arts and Sciences of New York, Rabbi Morris Goodblatt, Philadelphia; Rabbi S, Joshua Kohb, Trenton, N. J.; Rabbi Israel Lebendiger, Liberty, N. Y.; and Rabbi Ludwig, Uniontown, Pa.
