Two American Jewish educators have been appointed as presidents of two community colleges in New Jersey — the Bergen County Community College and the Mercer County Community College.
The two are Dr. Richard Greenfield, who has been named to head Mercer College; and Dr. Sidney Silverman, appointed president of Bergen College. Both are from New York. Dr. Greenfield will go to the Mercer Community College from his post as head of the Sullivan County (N. Y.) Community College. Dr. Silverman has been until now dean of the Bronx Community College.
The Bergen college is expected to be the largest facility in New Jersey’s community college program, and will cost an estimated $10,700,000. It is scheduled to open in September, 1968.
