Israel returned to Jordan today one of the soldiers taken prisoner during the reprisal raid in Samu last Sunday. The soldier, a private in the Arab Legion, was handed over to United Nations authorities at Mandelbaum Gate.

A second prisoner, a Jordanian major was wounded, removed to an Israeli hospital and died during an operation undertaken to save his life. His body was handed over to U.N. authorities earlier this week.

Reports received here today said that both Jordan and Lebanon had further reenforced their positions on Israel’s borders.
