Three top aids of President Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt will go to Moscow next week for talks with Soviet officials about the Arab-Israeli conflict, it was announced in Cairo today. The Moscow talks will precede an Arab summit conference set in Rabat, Morocco, for Dec. 20–the second top level Arab meeting since the Khartoum summit conference of September, 1967.
The semi-official Cairo newspaper Al Ahram said today that Col. Nasser is sending to Moscow Anwar El-Sadat, a member of the supreme executive committee of the Arab Specialist Union Party-Foreign Minister Mahmoud Rind Minister of War Gen. Mohammed Fawzi. Mr. el-Sadat, who is considered to be second to President Nasser in Egypt’s ruling hierarchy, will head the mission, Al Ahram said. The Arab Socialist Union is the only political party permitted in Egypt Sources in Cairo said that the invitations to the Rabat summit conference included a proposed agenda based on resolutions adopted by the Arab Defense Council which just met in Cairo. They are said to cover the political, military and economic mobilization of the Arab states against Israel.
