Premier Golda Meir is expected to meet with a group of Israeli high school seniors who have been questioning her government’s approach to peace with the Arabs. The youngsters’ views are similar to those expressed by Dr. Nahum Goldmann in recent articles charging the government with inflexibility. The students, all of whom will be drafted at the end of the school year, wrote to Mrs. Meir stating their doubts over the government’s policies. One of them, the son of Victor Shemtov, a Mapam minister-without-portfolio in Mrs. Meir’s Cabinet, said he was uncertain that he could fulfill his military duties with a clear sense of purpose. Circles close to the Prime Minister say she would meet the group because she considers it vital that Israeli soldiers know what they are doing and why they do it.
