Jacques Torczyner, U.S. Zionist leader, at a dinner given in his honor, expressed hopes for peace between Israel and the Arabs. He said Russia wants no war in the Middle East and stated that President Nixon’s administration helped Israel more than all other administrations together. American Jewry, he said, is aware of its duties, of its historical moment and helps Israel in every sense.

Torczyner, former leader of the Zionist Organization of America, was greeted by Dr. Miguel Maldavsky, president of the General Zionists in Chile, and Dr. Gil Sinay, president of the Representative Committee. Dr. Maldavsky, in an analysis of Chilean Jewry, said Chile has absolute freedom; there is no anti-Semitism and Jews are as Zionist now as before. Torczyner, who was visiting Chile with his wife, aroused great enthusiasm in the General Zionist ranks.

A delegation of eight youths from the Jerusalem Youth Capital left yesterday for a four-day visit aboard Abie Nathan’s radio ship, “Shalom.”
