A United Nations spokesman said today that Secretary General Kurt Waldheim will be in the Middle East at the end of August and the beginning of Sept. But he would not confirm a report from Cairo that Waldheim will visit Israel on Aug. 29 and Egypt two days later. Waldheim, going to the Middle East for a first-hand study of the Arab-Israeli conflict, is also scheduled to visit Lebanon, Syria and Jordan.
