Fifty-one Soviet Jews arrived at Kennedy Airport last night on a single flight from Rome, it was reported by United Hias Service which helped all of the newcomers in their emigration. Gaynor I. Jacobson, executive vice-president of the agency, stated that close to 200 Jews from the Soviet Union have reached the U.S. since July 30, when Attorney General Elliot L. Richardson declared that he would use his parole authority in behalf of 800 Soviet Jews in Rome awaiting American visas. Jacobson disclosed that about 100 additional Soviet Jews are expected here on a chartered flight next week.
The arrivals included an endocrinologist from Moscow, the former chief of a photographic-laboratory in Leningrad, a senior editor at the Research Institute of Soviet Law in Moscow, the director of production in a Leningrad television studio, and a senior biologist at Moscow University.
