A large-scale airlift between Libya and Syria continued today without interruption since last Sunday but the cargo being ferried in the giant American planes chartered to the Libyan airline is not known.

Michael Gurdus, the radio monitor of Israel Radio who has gained a number of world scoops for reporting on air movements, said today he had not kept count of the exact number of aircraft involved. But during a six-hour period today, three planes landed at Damascus from Libya.

He said the DC-8s used their U.S. registrations but identified themselves as belonging to the Libyan airline. By their accents, the pilots were “clearly Americans,” Gurdus said.
