First Jewess Named to School Board

Bangor, Me., Jan. 8 (JTA) –

Mrs. Edward I. Gleszer has been elected a member of the local school board. She is the first Jewess to hold such a position, not only in Bangor, but also in Maine. She was formerly a member of the city council. Mrs. Gleszer is the wife of Judge Edward I. Gleszer of the Bangor municipal court. He was the first Jew to be appointed to the bar in Maine.
