Evacuation of All Jews from Coastal Areas in Holland Ordered by Nazis

LONDON, Apr. 23 (JTA) –

The Vrij Nederland, organ of the Dutch government, today reports that the Nazi authorities have started evacuation of all Jews from the coastal areas in Holland to the Amsterdam ghetto. This is interpreted by the paper as an indication of the Nazi's fear of possible landings by Allied forces on Dutch shores.

The Central Jewish Committee in Amsterdam which is held responsible by the Nazi occupation authorities for the entire Jewish population in Holland, was notified by the German administration to start registering all able-bodied Jews, so that they might be transported to Germany for forced labor, it was reported here today by a Dutch student who succeeded in escaping from Holland.
