Liberty Ship Named After Jewish Labor Leader Launched in Maine

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine, Jul. 7 (JTA) –

A Liberty Ship bearing the name of B. Vladek, late Jewish labor leader and manager of the Jewish Daily Forward, was launched here today from the ways of the New England Shipbuilding Corporation, Representatives of various government departments and of Jewish labor organizations participated in the ceremony.
