AUGUSTA, Maine, Jun. 9 (JTA) –

For the first time in the history of the State of Maine, a Jew has been named a Justice of the Superior Court.

He is Abraham M. Rudman, a noted Bangor attorney and Navy veteran of World War I. Mr. Rudman, 57, has long been active in the Jewish community and is a past president of B'nai B'rith in Bangor and was the first president of that city's Jewish Community Center.
