Students Observe Prof. Gottheil’s 60th Birthday

Prof. Richard Gottheil’s students in his class at Columbia University presented their teacher for thirty-five years, professor of Semitic languages. there, a silver, seven-branch candelabrum, in celebration of his sixtieth birthday. The presentation was made by Rev. Dr. E. G.H. Kraeling, Epharim Frisch, Norman Salit and Louis A. Newman.

Professor Gottheil’s former pupils include some of the most famous Semitic scholars in American and abroad.
