Permission to allow the French authorities to prosecute Syrian rebels who find refuge in Palestine territory was refused by High Commissioner Lord Plumer, it was stated here today.

Rumor has it that the purpose of the visit to Jerusalem last week of General Gamelin, leader of the French army in Syria, was to ask the Palestine High Commissioner to exert greater vigilance over the Druzes who are crossing the Palestine-Transjordanian frontiers. It was claimed that although the Druzes, while crossing the frontier are unarmed and are therefore not arrested, later assist the Syrian rebels from Palestine.
