Further reports concerning the investigation of the situation of the national minorities, particularly the Jewish population in Roumania, by Col. Ament (in previous despatches given as Col. Hammond) were received here.

It appears that Col. Ament, accompanied by Mrs. Ament, visited many towns in Bukowina and Bessarabia, collecting data on the situation of the Jewish population.

The Roumanian press claims Col. Ament is carrying out a secret mission of the American government concerning the Jewish question in Roumania.

Delegations of the Jewish population, which are being received by the American investigator, are giving cautions answers to the questions he puts to them, it being understood that only the representatives of the Jewish population in the Roumanian parliament are to make any political statements.

The Colonel is confering with Roumanian officials in the various towns.
