Satisfaction was expressed today in leading Jewish circles, at the text of a congratulatory message despatched by President Hainisch to President Coolidge, in connection with the trans-Atlantic flight of Clarence D. Chamberlin and Charles A. Levine.
a his message President Hainisch emphasized the equal role of Charles A. Levine in the historic flight, to the glory of America.
Despatches from Budapest relate the details of the rousing reception given to the American flyers.
Levine and Chamberlin were received yesterday by Admiral Horthy. Regent of Hungary, and Count Bethlen, Prime Minister.
In an interview with representatives of Jewish newspapers Charles A. Levine stated that he keeps aloof from general as well as Jewish politics. He feels, however, great sympathy for the Palestine upbuilding work “I am proud of the Jewish participation in the progress of mankind and in the present day efforts to further the cause of aviation,” he said.
