In the month of July, the percentage of placements by the employment offices for Jewish immigrants here was greater than in the previous month, according to figures made public.
There were received 751 visits by 375 persons, of whom 133 were placed in positions: sixty-one of the total number of applicants were specialists and seventy-two were manual laborers and domestic servants.
During the month of June the employment offices recorded a total of 629 visits by 300 persons, of whom 147 were registered in June and the remaining 153 in the preceding month.
Ninety-six of the 300 applicants were placed in positions exclusively in the provinces, outside of Paris. Of this number, fifty were specialists and the rest manual laborers and domestic servants. Twenty were given work in the metallurgical industries, six at building construction, thirteen at dressmaking and other needlework, three in the liberal professions, two in commercial business, and five at various other occupations.
