Gorky Refuses to Aid Leon Trotsky

Maxim Gorky, famous Russian novelist, declined to intervene with the Italian government in behalf of Leon Trotsky’s request for asylum there.

The Soviet papers report that the exiled Communist leader directed a request to Gorky that he ask the Italian government to permit him to establish a residence at Capri, Italian resort.
