Signs of a definite breach between Adolph Hitler and one of his leading lieutenants, Gregor Strasser, are seen in the official announcement by the National Socialist Party that Herr Strasser had been given “three weeks’ leave because of illness.”
Strasser and Hitler are believed to have disagreed over the former’s policy favoring Nazi toleration of the von Schleicher government.
As an indication of the seriousness of the breach, it is pointed out that Strasser is no longer being mentioned for Premier of Prussia and that his place has been taken by Captain Herman Goering, president of the Reichstag, who is an extremist.
